Dr. White, a Maryland native, received both his undergraduate and medical degrees from Johns Hopkins University. He completed 2 years of general surgery and an additional 3 years of orthopaedic residency at Hopkins. He then went on to the Curtis National Hand Center at Union Memorial Hospital in Baltimore, where he completed a fellowship in Hand and Microvascular Surgery. Dr. White is board certified in Orthopaedics with added certification in Surgery of the Hand.
Dr. George White was named as a Best Doctor for 2012, 2013, 2014, and 2015 by U.S. News & World Report. He has been named as one of “America’s Top Doctors” by Castle Connolly Medical Ltd., as well as a Top Doctor by Consumers’ Checkbook. Dr. George White was also named one of the top 10 shoulder surgeons in the U.S. by Becker’s ASC Review, and our practice is routinely listed as one of the top hand surgery practices in the Southeast by insurance panels and physician review groups.
Dr. Brian White was raised in Orlando, FL. He completed his undergraduate degree at Wake Forest University and returned to Florida to attend medical school and residency at the University of South Florida. At the University of South Florida, Dr. White completed a residency in Orthopedic Surgery and Sports Medicine, participating in the care of the Tampa Bay Buccaneers.
Following residency, he completed a fellowship in Hand and Microvascular Surgery at the University of Southern California. While in Los Angeles, Dr. White worked at two of the largest hospitals in the country, Los Angeles County Hospital and Children’s Hospital of Los Angeles, where he received specialized training in plastic and orthopedic hand surgery, pediatric hand disorders, and brachial plexus injuries. He has published numerous scientific articles in the Journal of Hand Surgery and has been recognized for his research by the Orthopedic Research and Education Foundation.
Dr. Anup Patel is a plastic and reconstructive surgeon trained in hand/upper extremity surgery, microsurgery, and plastic and reconstructive surgery. He completed his plastic and reconstructive surgery training at Yale University followed by a hand and microsurgery fellowship at the New York University Institute of Reconstructive Plastic Surgery. Dr. Patel received his MD and MBA from the Yale University School of Medicine and Yale University School of Management, respectively. He graduated as the valedictorian of his class at the University of Florida majoring in economics, biochemistry and molecular genetics and valedictorian of his high-school class at Lake Highland.
Dr. Patel has served on the American Society of Plastic Surgeons’ Board of Directors and Government Affairs Committee, as well as the Plastic and Reconstructive Surgery Journal’s Editorial Board. He is on the Plastic and Reconstructive Surgery Global Open Journal’s Editorial Board spearheading its operative video instructional series endeavoring to train surgeons worldwide. He serves as reviewer for the Aesthetic Surgery Journal. Dr. Patel has worked in the United States Senate assisting with healthcare finance involving the Medicare Prescription Drug Bill.
